Oh no, not again What the hell did I do last night? This is not my pink angora sweater Pink is not my color But the angora feels nice Where the hell am I? Whose apartment is this? Not a clean person I’m not neat either But this looks intentional, angry even There’s a cat licking up ice cream Off the kitchen counter At least I hope that’s ice cream And I hope that’s a cat Oh no, no, no, not again Oh no, not again Oh no, no, no, not again Oh no, not again Where the hell am I? But I’m keeping that sweater Oh no, no, no, not again Oh no, not again Oh no, no, no, not again Oh no, not again Credits: Donna Lynch - Vocals Jason Sevanick - Bass, Guitar, Synth Joe King - Drums Paul Green - Voice, Lyrics Rick Furr - Guitar

I walk the wire You’re flat on your face I’m breathing fire You ain’t in the game All your desire Enough to make you choke But that’s not me, man I just push the rope You’re getting warmer Let’s cut to the chase Paint yourself in a corner Now tell me how that tastes All your excuses Nothing but a joke But that’s not me, man I just push the rope The rope, the rope... Credits: Jason Sevanick - Bass, Guitar, Synth, Backing Vocals, Lyrics Joe King - Drums Monica D - Vocals Rick Furr - Guitar

Sugarbush 04:19
Some people pull And some people push But some like to play So they sneak away Behind the sugarbush Come as you are Come take a look Go all the way If you want, you can stay Behind the sugarbush Behind the sugarbush Behind the sugarbush Behind the sugarbush So many surprises And don’t be confused By the lurid orange hues Or other disguises Behind the sugarbush So many surprises You can let go Because everyone knows But no one realizes Behind the sugarbush Behind the sugarbush So many surprises Credits: Jason Sevanick - Bass, Guitar, Synth, Lyrics Joe King - Drums Monica D - Voice Rick Furr - Guitar Tyler Wolosin - Vocals

Life is long Wounds cut deep Hard to take Harder to keep Fires of war Embers of peace The more you have The more you need Seeds of surveillance And private fears Our weakest moments And bitter tears Seeds of surveillance Seeds of surveillance And private fears Our weakest moments And bitter tears Seeds of surveillance And blackened hearts A need to know Is where it starts God sees all Stories tell Hard to hear Harder to sell Tests of faith Leave data trails Loves are few Rare to find Hard to lose Harder with time The more you search The more you find The more like God The more we fail Credits: Jason Sevanick - Bass, Guitar, Synth Joe King - Drums Paul Green - Lyrics Rick Furr - Guitar Tyler Wolosin - Vocals

Quick Six 03:30
Come down to the Players Club Sharp elbows, getting rubbed And if the real deal ain’t your thing Get it from the machine Get it from the machine I bet you’re buzzed In all the spots you wished you was Until you’re glazed Can’t wipe that shit grin off your face Just make ‘em guess But they should know you won’t confess A quick six is your little trick A quick six is your little trick A quick six is your little trick A quick six is your little trick Credits: Jason Sevanick - Bass, Guitar, Organ, Vibes, Backing Vocals, Lyrics Joe King - Drums Rick Furr - Guitar Tyler Wolosin - Vocals Willy Malo - Trumpet

Another night falls And we’re back in the cut The same old tricks The same old rut Among countless machines With malignant screens Where you lose yourself In search of God knows what Now we’re back in the cut Another year fades And we’re back in the cut Where dreams dissipate Like a punch to the gut Among the debris Not what you thought you would see A window in time That was open and shut Credits: Jason Sevanick - Bass, Guitar, Lyrics Joe King - Drums Monica D - Voice Rick Furr - Guitar Tyler Wolosin - Vocalizations
9.
Lost Cause 02:45
I know a lost cause when I see one I’ve see one plenty before I know a lost cause when I see one It’s just the one thing I know I know a lost cause when I see one I’ve seen it all over… All over your face Credits: Jason Sevanick - Bass, Guitar, Vocals Joe King - Drums Paul Green - Lyrics Willy Malo - Trumpet

about

Psychedelic Neo-Noir Rock based out of Washington DC.

On their unrelenting 5th album (the 2nd in 2023), Miscellen thrusts searing compositions into the kiln and hammers out translucent rock for an opaque world.

As the inexorable march of technology outpaces the boundaries of human ethics and fresh wounds are cut into old scars, a pervasive unease takes root in the collective consciousness. Entangled in a web of dehumanizing algorithms and disinformation where the contours of reality are eroded, we witness a society divided and disoriented.

“Contrablonde” is Miscellen’s visceral response – a primal shiver that resonates from a hard-hitting, psychedelic rock soundscape and summons listeners down a path of authentic self-expression, even when those journeys are unexpected, uncomfortable, or unsanctioned.

So come out tonight and writhe.
